Since both of his parents were so into music and his cousin was running a record shop, he was grown up, listening to different genres. When in elemantary school, he happened to hear YMO in a super market and got a big shock on their music. After entering junior high school, he make a
synthesizer called KIT, which could be made by a solder and screwdriver. He started a band FAKERHOLIC with friends from the cramming school.He got Roland synthesizer as a present when he entered high school and started DTM with SHARP MZ-1200. When in 11th grade, he completed FAKERHOLIC 1st album on cassette tape. Since he touched a sampler(8bit) that one of the band member had bought, he has got interest in sampling music of HOLGERHILLER、ART OF NOISE and HAJIME TACHIBANA.
After entering the university, he got influence of DJ style such as house, hip-hop and so on. He would listen to about 20 records and CDs per week.
From around 1990, he started live acts such as house unit 'SONICON'and 'PSIFI COWBOY' in Kansai clubs.
In 1991 his bandmates and he were called to Tokyo by DMX IZUMI MIYAZAKI,HIROFUMI ASAMOTO as they had liked 'PSIFI COWBOY' demo tape. They started to make an album and 12inch, however, failed to release them after disagreement between Mr.Miyazaki and 'PSIFI COWBOY'. He was still in contact with Mr Miyazaki after that, he moved back to Kansai to finish the university and to start a new unit.
In 1992, he started dub unit 'DUB WISE RANCH' with KANEKURA from PELLEGRINI. In likes of SEIICHI YAMAMOTO, they performed LIVE DUB MIX as opening act of DENDO-HA(BOREDOMS another unit)
in 1994, VO.SAX and Gt KUWABARA(ex.UNIVERSAL-ERROR)joined the band and reformed as a break-beat featured jazz funk band called 'SWEET SECRETS'. However, the band split after Hanshin-Awaji earthquake in 95.
In 1996, got involved with Osaka-based EVERGREEN records as a sound producer and an artist. Worked on 2 tracks of 12inch single EVER002 by DJ ARAKI, the owner of the record lebel.Got involved with the party 'ORIGIN BEAUTY' produced by the lebel as live act and DJ. Played with various artists e.g. EYE, HIRAFUMI ASAMOTO,KIYOSHI WAIZUMI,HIROSHI EGAITSU,L?K?O,SOU OKADA(VAGABOND),c.p.a. ,PSYCHEOUT,KAN TAKAGI,TUTTLE,DJ HIRO,NARUHISA MATSUOKA,AKIRA MIZUMOTO,YA△,MA,UFO,etc.
In 1997, released coupling analog EPs of Double frame, unit with DJ ARAKI, and abstract band SOLID BOND. As a solo artist TUXEDO JUNK, also released the hit analog EP TuxedoRock Masterpiece E.P. Appeared in a big event produced by NINJA TUNE with COLDCUT,MIZMASTER-MORRIS,FOOD,VADIM,etc.
In 1998, released collaboration EP with NARUHISA MATSUOKA,titled 'TUXEDO JUNK meets DJ MATSUOKA〜PASTED ERASER'. Worked on compilation CD 'Sortie(V.A.)' along with KIYOSHI WAIZUMI,PSYCHEOUT,YOSHIHIRO HANNO,HYU,NARUHISA MATSUOKA,etc. Formed RUBYORLA with DJ BUNLIN and performed once. After appearing several events as TUXEDO JUNK, took rest from the end of 1999.
In 2000, as a new solo project RUBYORLA, worked on compilation 'SUPER POST ELECTRONICA(V.A.)', which was released as the first CD from +CROSS lebel. Started his own lebel TENKEY RECORD and released compilation 'Tension and Relaxation' participated by ARTHAND, Harp On Mouth Sextet, KYA, METALOB and RUBYORLA. It had a good reputation.Started sub-lebel called ueon disc and produced limited-release album 'SUMMER OF SAKHA' by Harp On Mouth Sextet, unit of RUBYORLA and 6-piece-girl-band JEW'S HARP ELECTRONIC.Followed by another limited-release album '2000 KNAVES' by ALT ENTER DEL ESC, which was formed by RUBYORLA and ARTHAND.
In 2001, resumed live performance. Released a mini album of three-piece-girl-band PING-PONG from ueond disc lebel. Gained reputation after gagaku-themed performance for 30 minutes at live.
In 2002, performed at ROVO as Harp On Month Sextet and gradually gained popularity. Released "KYOUGARAKUKAI"~harmonica no shirabe~ by Harp On Mouth Sextet, the 4th CD from ueon disc. The album was selected by EYE as the best album of 2002 in REMIX magazine. Joined ILLREME as a keyboardist with YABEMILK,performed in some events. Formed Hanshin Tigers supporters' unit called SANO-MAYUMIwith YABEMILK in an event produced by SEIICHI YAMAMOTO.
In 2003, got involved with accordion tune ILLREME「RYUUSEI YORI AI WO KOMETE」, along with REI HARAKAMI,HYU、MAFUKARU. Held a legendary dinner show with YABEMILK(chief)、SEINOSUKE SAEKI SHIMAI(chief), KAZUMI NIKAIDO(singer),OORUTAICHI(performance) and MOYUNIJUMO(MC).Joined sandlot baseball team SAKASEGAWA POSEIDONS(Baseball team)numbered 78. As Harp on Mouth Sextet, got involved with compilation 「SU.PA,I,SU」with altz, ATR, PHYCOBABA. Was actually hectic, working on several
projects such as RUBYORLA, ALT ENTER DEL ESC, HARP ON MOUTH SEXTET, new unit PENELOPPI and ILLREME.Played with WOODMAN,KARAFUTO(FUMIYA TANAKA),AKIRA SAKATA,TOKYO ZAWINULBACH,NUMB,PARDON-KIMURA,METALTICS,YOSUKE YAMASHITA,etc. Started making RUBYORLA's solo album in December.
In Janurary 2004, performed in one-night-long-event as ILLREME,ALT ENTER DEL ESC, along with ECD,RIOW ARAI,MU(+MORRISFURUTON). Played the original instrument POCOPOCO-HEAD-SOUND-SYSTEM.MORRISFURUTON was very much pleased with it.Focused on finishing the album from February to May.
This summer, expected to release solo album by ARTHAND, who has also worked on mastering of this album.Will release RUBYORLA solo album 'SAMPLING SOMETHING' on July 15, and expected to perform many gigs.
Seeing what he looks like in baseball uniform, he is the late-coming rookie.
This album opens with the voice of OORUTAICHI and this is the hip-hop
album of the next generation. This album would remind you of the initial moment when you touched and felt a sampler for the first time and the memories that you were eager to make sampling of something everyday. He challenged to make his own hip-hop and sampling theme compilation album
while CD selling is decreasing, only few certain popular singers or groups and some insignificant complation albums are making good sales. Sounds and styles vary every track, yet they are consistently original. I don't mention whether it is good or bad, but this is the B-consciousness of RUBYORLA.
Another key-word of this album is free-style.Since he is an improvisers, he has his own style in completing tracks:he has MC or scat done by artists, then he arranges it for tracks. As for track 13 of this album, which is 13minute-duration, they challenged rap-field-recording that he recorded
three MCs' free-style at once in a subway in Kyoto. This is the hightlight of this album.
It seems incredibly difficult to make 'sampling' from'happenings', however RUBYORLA can manage it somehow. How would RUBYORLA's B-consciousness be accepted by B-boys and B-girls? RUBYORLA will keep sampling of something new hereafter.
